OKKO #1 ONCE WAS LOST, BUT NOW IS FOUND

OKKO #1 ONCE WAS LOST, BUT NOW IS FOUND

Kearny, NJ -- Sep 24, 2007 -- OKKO #1, out of stock for nearly 6 months and an oft-requested book by retailers and fans alike, made a surprise appearance over the weekend in the ASP warehouse. Several hundred copies of the acclaimed series from Hub were found, disinterred from a deep dark corner, and are now once again available through Diamond Comic Distributors [Order Code: OCT06 3130]. Everyone’s encouraged to grab a copy before these are gone…this time, for good.

“This is, needless to say, a bit embarrassing,” said Mark Smylie, publisher of ASP Comics. “We had a lot of requests for the book, a lot of fans wanting to see where OKKO started and retailers asking us if it was still available, but I kept telling them the book was as gone as Little Carp. At the end of convention season we finally managed to do some inventory at the warehouse, and imagine my surprise….”

In OKKO: THE CYCLE OF WATER #1 (of 4, $3.95, 32 pages), Okko the ronin heads a small group of demon hunters, wandering the realms of Empire. He is accompanied by Noburo, a mysterious giant who hides his face behind a red mask, and the whimsical monk Noshin, the saké lover with the power to summon and commune with the spirits of nature. When Tikku’s sister Little Carp is kidnapped by pirates, the young fisherman enlists the group’s help in finding her. But the quest will have a price... OKKO: THE CYCLE OF WATER comes from French mastermind and writer/illustrator Hub.

Reviews for OKKO have been outstanding: “This first issue is just flat-out fantastic, and promises to give nothing but more of the same” [Dave Baxter, Broken Frontier]; “Lush artwork combine with an engaging and exciting story that will have you demanding your comic shop to carry. I highly recommend this series to everyone” [Jeff Marsick, Best Shots Team as featured on Newsarama and ShotgunReview.com].
